For our friend Tyler’s 30th birthday, his girlfriend Manny surprised him with tickets to his favourite artist, Katy Perry in Las Vegas for October 15th 2022. Little did he know that my boyfriend Spencer and I would be surprising them there! Manny and I planned it for months and Tyler had no idea until we showed up to the hotel in Vegas! Here is how it went…
FLIGHTS
For the last few months, we have been flying with a new Canadian company called Flair. Despite there being many poor reviews about the company, we have had a good experience every time we have flown with them. In order to insure everything goes well on our end we do the following:
Screenshot everything: We always make sure to screenshot the entire process when booking our flights online just for that extra security. This has helped us a few times at the counter as their computer may say something else.
Check-in early: We asked to receive texts when the check-in opens so that we are able to check-in right away. When you check-in online/ on your own, you avoid a fee at the airport counter.
Contact Support: Should an issue arise, Flair’s customer support team and aircrew are quick to help. We had a couple issues on separate occasions but the customer support team & cabin crew helped us immediately and we were well taken care of.
We flew with Flair from YVR to LAS for $500 roundtrip all together (my boyfriend and myself- average of $250 each). Everything went well with our flights and baggage! We would definitely fly Flair again.
TRANSPORTATION
We took Ubers, Lyfts or Taxis everywhere because:
- You save money on: rental car, gas, & parking
- You can drink & have a safe way back
- You don’t have to deal with driving in Vegas traffic
STAY
We chose to stay at Sahara Hotel. As we knew we would not be spending much time in the hotel, we went with a cheaper option. For three nights, the cost came to $1,155 CAD which is the best rate we could find for a hotel on the strip. This hotel was beautiful, clean and offered many amenities. There were several restaurants, a couple pools, a gym, casinos and even Magic Mike is hosted there.
FOOD
We ate wherever we could/ whenever we had the chance. To name a few:
- Ocean One Grille
- Pizza Cake
- Hotel restaurants
